Today, I want to write to my Suite life Kids customers and clients about how color affects our mood and more importantly the mood of children. This insures that we select the correct paint color for our little one!
-
Red- is a color that is in the warm family of color. It is vibrant and exudes energy. It is great for socializing and stimulating the appetite. For a nursery, it can be paired with a pale complementary color in order to tame it and make it easier to relax in.
-
Pink- is red with white added and is associated with feelings of love, security, trust, as well concern for others. It can be paired with chocolate to create a trendy color combination ,or black to create sophistication, or green to create a calming envirnonment.
-
Yellow-makes us happy no matter what shade it is in.It reminds us of the sun and its ability to warm and bring forth light. Yellow can be used with green to remind us of nature, used with purple to create some contrast and drama, or used with blue and red to deliver the timeless primary colors for a child's imagination.
-
Blue-is the most considered color for a boys room. It has a claming effect which is excellent for bedrooms due to its calming effect. It can be used with orange for excitement, green for resting, or the primary color of red and yellow for a traditonal kids room.
-
Green-is considered calming and is connected to nature through trees and grass. It is very relaxing and refreshing. It creates a feeling of peace. It can be used with most any color. You can take cues from nature by observing the flowers.
-
Black-is a color that creates instant sophistication when paired with another color. Black is strong and grounding in a room. It allows objects to be emphasized more than the color itself.
-
Beige and other neutrals-These colors are excellent for people who look to the future and don't want to be held captive of one color scheme. Because the neutrals coordinate with all the other colors you have flexibilty in the future to change the entire color scheme without having to repaint your space.
-
Orange- I like to think of orange as combining the feeling of both red and yellow. It is as exciting as red but more calming and it also creates happy feeelings as yellow does. Orange combined with blue is a winning combination in a boys room.
